Trevillion were initially in competition with a number of design companies to design 2no mock up bedrooms. Upon completion of the bedrooms, ensuite bathrooms and small section of corridor/ lobby, the clients, London & Regional, successfully appointed us on the project!
Our thought process behind the Strand Palace Hotel was stylish, yet savvy, and our primary aim was to maximise these relatively small bedrooms with clever design techniques.
We chose to incorporate reflective surfaces, canti-levered casegoods, and a tonal layering of colour in order to enhance the floor area and provide the feeling of ‘space’ within the bedrooms.
The scheme itself was inspired by the rich Art Deco heritage of the hotel & we embraced these rich periodic influences typical of the 20’s era, to create a scheme with a strong sense of style and sophistication.
The 8 floors have now all been finalised, all layouts space planned, and construction is to be rolled out across the hotel during a 2 year phasing period.
